Who qualifies for expungement in New Jersey?
It depends on what's on your record and how much time has passed. Dismissed charges and acquittals can generally be expunged right away; convictions usually have waiting periods, and some offenses can't be expunged. Our free screening walks you through the criteria in N.J.S.A. 2C:52 — and if you're not sure about something, we explain it as you go.
I have a lot of arrests. Can you handle that?
Yes. The state's kit requires an addendum page for each additional arrest, and we generate them automatically — properly numbered and complete — however many you have. Nothing on your record gets left off the petition.
What happens after I download my packet?
You file it yourself (Pro Se) through the NJ eCourts portal — your dashboard includes a step-by-step guide. After the court assigns a docket number, you mail the included cover letters to the required agencies. Then the court reviews your petition and issues a decision.
